Placement Tips

Mount your bat house 12 to 20 feet high on a pole or the side of a building where it gets 6 or more hours of direct sun a day, ideally facing south or southeast. Keep the area below the entrance clear of branches, and place it within a quarter mile of water such as a pond, creek or lake if possible. Avoid mounting on trees, where predators can reach it and shade keeps it too cool.
