Bluebird House Tips

Placement

Mount the house 4 to 6 feet high on a post in an open, grassy area, ideally with a tree or fence nearby where young birds can perch after fledging.

Timing

Put the house up in late winter so it is ready when bluebirds begin scouting nest sites.

Monitoring

Check the house weekly during nesting season and clean out old nests after each brood fledges.
