Platform Feeding Tips

Food Choices

Offer millet, cracked corn, sunflower seed or a ground-feeding blend. Platform feeders also work well for fruit and mealworms.

Placement

Set the feeder in an open spot about 10 feet from shrubs, giving birds cover nearby while keeping a clear view of approaching predators.

Cleaning

Offer only what birds will eat in a day or two, and brush off old seed and droppings regularly.
